About this event
In this online book study explore how the ideology of empire has impacted your, and our, spiritual lives
“I wrote this book to uncover the imperial ideologies woven into our everyday lives…More specifically, I wrote it to uncover the imperial ideologies woven into our spirituality, our churches, our study of the Bible. Understanding these ideologies is essential to understanding ourselves, our world, and our faith – and to imagining new ways of being and belonging.” ~Kat Armas
What is empire, and what does living within its ideologies demand of us? How do we move towards wisdom, kinship and wholeness in a culture that thrives on dominance, violence and hustle? Join us as we explore these questions in our reading, journaling, and discussion of “Liturgies for Resisting Empire: Seeking Community, Belonging, and Peace in a Dehumanizing World” by author Kat Armas.
SAGES provides a safe space to explore the intersection of spiritual growth, transformation, and social justice using contemplative practice, study, reflection and discussion.
No matter where you are on your spiritual journey, you are welcome!
