  • A Linn County pilot addressing credit and rental issues has exceeded its goal by housing 37 people and enrolling 44 in education, backed by a $100,000 donation from Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust, while the city has pledged a full time Landlord Liaison to guide the program through 2026.  KCRG

  • Over the holiday weekend, hundreds of fans gathered at Marcus Theatres in Cedar Rapids to watch the sold-out final episode of a long-running TV show, with repeated screenings and a noted visit from local fan Jack Gummert (who appreciated the theater experience).  KCRG

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Iowa dairy farmers saw a small profit on milk today as lower grain prices brought down cow feed costs and fewer cattle raised beef prices that boosted income from crossbred calves. Fred Hall (Iowa State University Extension) explained that these changes add about $2.50 to $3.50 per hundredweight of milk.  Radio Iowa

  • UnityPoint Health's St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids welcomed its first baby of 2026 when baby Graceph was born Thursday at 7:58 a.m. He weighed two pounds, eight ounces at 28 weeks gestation and is the son of Ameri and Ayite.  KCRG
