- ➤ Washington High School named Darius Ballard as principal ahead of his full-time appointment before Spring Break. Theresa Hall stepped down effective Friday while Dr. Julie Cain continues as acting principal to ensure stability during the transition. KWWL

- ➤ Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird sued 18 pharmacy benefit managers — charging them with pricing insulin between $300 and $400 while the same drug sells abroad for less than $5 — and seeks restitution for Iowans impacted by these practices. KCCI
- ➤ The Cedar Rapids Parks and Recreation Department held a seasonal job fair yesterday from 2:00 p.m. + 6:00 p.m. at Noelridge Greenhouse; another fair is set for Feb. 6 from 2:00 p.m. + 6:00 p.m. at the Public Library. KCRG
- ➤ City officials announced that the Tree of Five Seasons Park will be refreshed following a $30 million flood control project along the Cedar River. The iconic tree was moved 40-50 feet inland to allow for new flood walls, and park renovations will begin mid-April and run through Halloween. CBS 2 Iowa
- ➤ A proposal to expand the Linn County landfill at 1954 County Home Road—by reducing the setback by 450 feet—is set to extend operations until 2044.
