- ➤ Cedar Rapids has retooled its Special Populations programs into a new therapeutic recreation initiative led by Macey Lovell that offers Special Olympics practices, line dancing classes and card games. City staff will expand youth and social programs after receiving over 300 community comments at a July open house. The Gazette
- ➤ Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation will open registration for spring and summer rec programs today at 8 a.m. online, by phone and in person—offering activities from swimming to fitness classes at local parks, with income-based financial assistance available through the RecAssist program. KWWL

- ➤ Pork Tornadoes played at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse on Feb. 28 in downtown Cedar Rapids — their third show at the venue. The band will perform several shows in April, open the new Hy-Vee Amphitheater in North Liberty on May 22, and tease a summer concert in Cedar Rapids. CBS 2 Iowa

- ➤ The Iowa DNR is hosting public meetings for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts to review past seasons and consider rule changes.
