  • Cedar Rapids Community School District is cutting about 6% of its staff through attrition and retirements because of a $12 million budget gap and a decline of roughly 3,000 students over two decades. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City crews are building a flood levy along Cedar Lake’s west side and adding a new ADA compliant kayaking pier, playgrounds, fishing jetties and a boardwalk—plans include a pedestrian bridge called the Alliant Lightline linking the lake to the Cedar Valley Nature Trail. The work is expected to be completed in 2026.  KCRG
