- ➤ A criminal complaint released Monday detailed evidence linking Donnie White—arrested in Las Vegas on March 19—to the February homicide of 38-year-old Brittany Hopkins, whose body was found in a shopping cart on Westdale Drive in Cedar Rapids and was ruled a homicide from blunt force head injuries. - ➤ Investigators determined that 18-year-old Cedar Rapids man Ezekiel Baseme died on November 6 from complications of probable starvation and dehydration after his brothers tied him to a bed during a schizophrenic episode—his condition worsened over several days before he died. KCRG

- ➤ Data from the Iowa Department of Education shows the class of 2024 graduation rate rose to 88.3%, returning to pre-pandemic levels with nearly 900 more students earning their diplomas—improvements were noted for students with disabilities and low-income families. CBS 2 Iowa
- ➤ Cedar Rapids Community School District data shows that the four-year graduation rate for the class of 2024 rose to 79.1 percent while the grade 7 to 12 dropout rate dropped to 2.67 percent.
