- ➤ Mount Trashmore, a popular trail site, has reopened for the season Tuesday through Sunday with all trails accessible. The Trashmore Challenge returns, inviting participants to complete 140 climbs over the year — a height equal to scaling Mount Everest. KWWL
- ➤ Green Square Meals returned to its usual home yesterday after a February dumpster fire forced a temporary relocation. The nonprofit continued serving meals at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (a few blocks away) while insurance estimated $50,000 in smoke and debris damage. KCRG

- ➤ Longtime Kirkwood Community College coach Kim Muhl is retiring after 37 seasons with over 1,100 wins and nine national championships. He will be honored at the NCAA Women’s Final Four in Phoenix on Friday (and inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in June). KCRG
- ➤ Cedar Rapids school leaders asked families for input on proposed attendance boundary changes during meetings held Wednesday night at three high schools (Jefferson, Kennedy, and Washington). - ➤ More than 200 Iowa National Guard soldiers are returning from a Middle East deployment, with 60 arriving today just after noon at the Eastern Iowa Airport and a welcome ceremony scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Iowa Army Guard Armory in Cedar Rapids; another ceremony for 140 troops will be announced soon. - ➤ NASA is gearing up for Artemis II, a 10-day crew mission around the moon and back, with Iowa ties highlighted by local reporting. The launch is set for Wednesday evening (NASA expert Dr. Lisa Carnell explained that astronauts will see the moon’s far side). KCRG
