- ➤ A survey of 7,500 voters shows 41% favor the $210 million bond referendum—44% oppose it and 15% remain unsure; the bond would pay for renovations at McKinley and Wilson Middle Schools, a new middle school on the Northeast side, and updates to Kennedy High School. - ➤ Starting on May 7th, Iowans who fly on commercial planes will need a REAL ID or another approved form of ID since driver’s licenses without a gold star will not be accepted. AAA spokesman Brian Ortner said most Iowans already have the new ID while those who do not must gather proof of identity and address if they plan to fly or enter federal facilities. Radio Iowa
- ➤ Iowa is urging residents to get a REAL ID from the DMV before May 7 if they plan to fly or enter federal buildings—applicants must bring a passport, social security card, and proof of residency.
