- ➤ The Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival announced its 2025 Tribute to Heroes honorees — local leaders Anne Dugger, Brian Eschen, John Thompson, and posthumously honored Matt Kunkle are recognized for exceptional service and leadership. The Tribute to Heroes Breakfast will be held Tuesday, July 1 at the Veterans Memorial Building, and the honorees will serve as Grand Marshals for the Freedom Festival Parade on Saturday, June 28.
