- ➤ Sub-Zero—a Wisconsin manufacturer—will expand its Cedar Rapids facility on 6th Street SW by adding 230,000 sqft and 312 jobs to its 600,000 sqft plant. The expansion shows strong growth in our local business scene. KCRG
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Cedar Rapids Community School District finalized a plan to close five elementary schools and the Truman Early Learning Center at the start of the 2027–28 school year while converting other schools for new grade levels. Officials are still discussing staffing and building plans as some community members raise concerns. KCRG

- ➤ City officials began water main repairs on the southbound lane of 34th Street SE near Lamplite Lane — drivers are advised to follow the detour route via Cottage Grove Avenue to Mount Vernon Road and expect limited access for about two days. CBS 2 Iowa
