The church also donated $50,000 to Wellington Heights Community Church for facility improvements.

Eastern Iowa’s Hindu community celebrated the opening of a larger temple in Robins; the 1,000-capacity space replaces the long-used Cedar Rapids temple and was funded by local donations, with plans to serve as a cultural center by adding a community hall and library.

Mt. Vernon pitcher Cael Foreman became the first overall pick in the inaugural Big League Whiffle Ball draft held on April 18 by the San Diego Orcas.
