Good morning, Cedar Rapids. Here's your local news at a glance for Thursday, the 15th of May.

COMMUNITY NEWS

  • On Wednesday, immigrant workers, faith leaders and community members delivered 800 signatures to the Cedar Rapids State Patrol office to ask the state to end its 287(g) ICE Task Force, which lets troopers act like federal agents on traffic stops. ICE canceled immigrant leader Reina Marroquin’s check-in less than 24 hours before the event, delaying her next appointment until December 3rd — activists call this a win for the community.  CBS 2 Iowa
