- ➤ More than two dozen Cedar Rapids high schoolers spent 11,000 hours building a 3,000-square foot five bedroom, three bathroom home in Hiawatha to gain real construction skills. - ➤ City View Community High School will move this fall from its downtown Cedar Rapids site to the Linn County Regional Center in Hiawatha with a new head-of-schools leading daily programs—this change will boost dual enrollment by linking high school students with Kirkwood Community College courses. - ➤ The Iowa legislative session ended after lawmakers passed key bills to cut unemployment insurance taxes, provide paid leave for state workers, and fund opioid addiction treatment, while also voting on budget proposals.
