- ➤ A motorcyclist led Cedar Rapids police on a high-speed chase Wednesday evening after officers tried to pull over a pickup truck and motorcycle filming dangerous stunts on Highway 100 — the rider, identified as Kyle Ward, drove at 177 mph on highways 100 and 30 before police tracked him to the 7700 block of 18th Street SW and arrested him on multiple charges. - ➤ Cedar Rapids will soon have its first nonprofit pharmacy with urgent care that will serve low-income families after another pharmacy closed + Eastern Iowa Health Care said the new facility will let patients pick up covered medications more quickly under a law signed by Governor Kim Reynolds Wednesday. - ➤ Iowa health officials warned residents after three measles cases were confirmed over the past three weeks; the new case involved an unvaccinated child in eastern Iowa who was exposed while traveling. Officials stressed the need for community immunity to protect young children, especially since two-year-old vaccination rates remain below the 95 percent threshold needed for outbreak prevention (84 percent are currently vaccinated statewide).
