- ➤ Today, Cedar Rapids nonprofit Together We Achieve joined over 200 statewide sites in Governor Reynolds’ Healthy Kids Iowa program that replaces summer EBT for families below 185% of the poverty level with children ages 4 to 18. The volunteer-run pantry, located in a local food desert and serving over 100 families daily, began operating the program despite delays in USDA approval — which shortened the time for food banks to purchase and distribute food. - ➤ This weekend, new landmark letters were installed on Mays Island in downtown Cedar Rapids, drawing locals to snap pictures with the installation — a project led by Downtown SSMID.
