  • The Cedar Rapids Fire Department responded to a fire on the 1300 block of C Street SW just before 1:30 a.m., where two adults and four pets escaped safely when their smoke detectors went off and the house sustained moderate fire, smoke & water damage while the cause remains under investigation.  CBS 2 Iowa
  • A two-vehicle crash on Highway 13 and County Home Road in Marion on Sunday just after 10 a.m. left the Ford Escape driver with minor injuries and resulted in 48-year-old Laura Greiner being charged for failing to stop at a sign— the crash involved a white Dodge cargo van striking a blue Ford Escape.  CBS 2 Iowa
  • A car collision occurred Sunday evening around 6:45 p.m. on Highway 13 near Mount Vernon Road when a Chevy Trailblazer hit a Nissan Rogue that flipped onto its roof, leaving two people with minor injuries (the Nissan driver was taken to a local hospital while the Trailblazer driver was cited for failing to obey a traffic control device).  CBS 2 Iowa
  • A house fire broke out early Sunday morning in the 1300 block of C Street SW and residents escaped safely thanks to working smoke detectors while firefighters controlled the blaze—rescuing three cats and one dog—and the house suffered moderate basement damage as investigators work to determine the cause.  KCRG
