- ➤ The Cedar Rapids Fire Department responded to a fire on the 1300 block of C Street SW just before 1:30 a.m., where two adults and four pets escaped safely when their smoke detectors went off and the house sustained moderate fire, smoke & water damage while the cause remains under investigation. - ➤ A two-vehicle crash on Highway 13 and County Home Road in Marion on Sunday just after 10 a.m. left the Ford Escape driver with minor injuries and resulted in 48-year-old Laura Greiner being charged for failing to stop at a sign— the crash involved a white Dodge cargo van striking a blue Ford Escape. - ➤ A car collision occurred Sunday evening around 6:45 p.m. on Highway 13 near Mount Vernon Road when a Chevy Trailblazer hit a Nissan Rogue that flipped onto its roof, leaving two people with minor injuries (the Nissan driver was taken to a local hospital while the Trailblazer driver was cited for failing to obey a traffic control device).
