- ➤ Cedar Rapids City Council will vote Tuesday to dismantle its Citizen Review Board due to a new state law that bans such boards in cities with a civil service commission. - ➤ Cedar Rapids was awarded $25 million for flood control upgrades along the Cedar River in northwest neighborhoods near the future Cedar Crossing Casino site—this grant will fund a new levee, a flood wall and gate at Union Pacific Railroad, and a raised F Avenue with a roundabout at First Street.
