- ➤ Save CR Heritage nearly completed its fundraising to buy the historic Zastera Pharmacy building on Ellis Boulevard — it is $17,500 short of its $175,000 goal and will host a final fundraiser Saturday morning to sell vintage items and commemorative bricks as it plans to convert the building into a salvage shop and community hub. - ➤ Cedar Rapids Mayor Tiffany O'Donnell said Tuesday that the $275 million Cedar Crossing Casino project will move forward after Riverside Casino did not file an appeal last month — the new center will feature 700 slot machines, 22 table games, restaurants, a 1,500-seat venue and a free STEM lab for Linn County students, with an opening planned for New Year's Eve 2026. - ➤ A NASA mission using technology from the University of Iowa is launching today from Vandenberg Space Force Base on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.
