EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Advocates for a $117 million bond proposal for Cedar Rapids schools collected more than 700 signatures on Saturday—pushing the petition above the 5,500 needed for the November ballot. If approved, the bond will fund renovations, safety measures and ADA improvements at local schools. KCRG
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ CRUSH hosted an overdose prevention fair on Saturday at NewBo City Market in Cedar Rapids where local groups shared resources and handed out Narcan to reverse overdoses. Executive Director Rod Courtney—who lost his son to an overdose—said he will push to legalize fentanyl test strips as a harm reduction measure. KCRG
