- ➤ On Wednesday, police in Linn County linked a burglary at a Center Point home to Timothy Meier, who drove a stolen 2018 Ford Escape from a Cedar Rapids garage, ran into a barbed wire fence & resisted arrest as stolen property was recovered. KCRG
- ➤ Two Cedar Rapids teenagers were charged with robbery and assault after meeting on Aug. 14 to buy marijuana — they pointed guns at other teens in a parking lot and fired a shot that injured a girl who was taken to a hospital. The Gazette
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Hunter Baldus, the first participant in the Make My Move Greater Cedar Rapids program, is moving from Denver back to work remotely and earn a relocation incentive—he plans to move with his family while meeting income and job requirements. The program, which launched in July, offers rewards to remote workers from outside Iowa who must relocate within six months. KCRG
- ➤ Iowa Ag Secretary Mike Naig said harvest season is coming and a record corn crop may lower prices, so he will travel to India in two weeks and lead a trade mission in November to Vietnam and Indonesia.
