Good morning, Cedar Rapids.

Cedar Rapids Pride held its annual community picnic today as part of a month-long series of events that offer locals a safe space to be themselves.

The next event will be on September 4 at Cedar Rapids Public Library and will feature a reading by local author Ellen Krug.

A Cedar Rapids man aged 67 was arrested Thursday on charges of second-degree sexual abuse and indecent contact with a five-year-old child who reported the abuse to her family and professionals during babysitting between June 2024 and April 2025—he is held on a $50,000 cash-only bond under a no-contact order.
