- ➤ A Cedar Rapids woman was arrested Sunday night after officers responded to a shooting in the 3100-block of 16th Avenue SW where a 32-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to a hospital; she faces charges (Domestic Abuse Assault, Display or Use of a Weapon, Use of a Dangerous Weapon in Commission of a Crime, and Willful Injury) as the investigation continues. - ➤ Cedar Rapids man Jesse Raymond Akers, who was released from federal prison in March after a lengthy 148‑month sentence for firearm offenses, was booked into Linn County Jail Monday on charges of felon in possession of a gun, eluding, and drug crimes after being pulled over on Highway 100 at around 10 p.m.—his next court appearance is set for Friday at 8:30 a.m. CBS 2 Iowa
