Good morning, Cedar Rapids.

On Saturday morning, 2,410 people gathered at Greene Square Park—breaking the record for the Largest Cereal Breakfast as part of the final Downtown Cedar Rapids Farmer’s Market of the season.

Mayor Tiffany O’Donnell declared the day Cereal Day.

On Saturday, hundreds gathered at Kingston Yard in Cedar Rapids for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s where participants held a Promise Garden Ceremony with colorful flowers—each hue representing a personal reason to fight the disease—and raised donations to support care and research.

On Friday and Saturday, hundreds lined up at the Hyatt Hotel in Coralville for Iowa Mission of Mercy's free dental clinic, where volunteer dentists and students provided teeth cleanings, extractions, and other treatments to patients who could not afford care.

Volunteers helped improve oral health—ensuring many in need left with brighter smiles.

Today a local Fareway Cooking segment advises quick, healthy weeknight dinners using simple ingredients, such as grilled chicken, frozen broccoli, and microwavable brown rice.

The segment also suggests batch-cooking and keeping staples like canned beans+frozen vegetables to ease busy schedules.
