Good morning, Cedar Rapids.

A record-breaking crowd of 16,682 people attended this year’s Especially for You Race Against Breast Cancer in Cedar Rapids at Mercy Medical Center, marking a new high in its 35-year history.

The race raised over $529,000 to fund breast cancer screenings and services for local residents—money that has already supported more than 15,000 Linn County residents.

Kraft Heinz, Modern Construction, and Americold hosted a Free Lunch in the Park at Green Square where residents enjoyed mac and cheese, chili, and water — organizers said they hope the event becomes an annual opportunity for job seekers and neighbors to connect.

St. Pius X Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids held its 18th annual Mental Health Awareness Mass to share mental health resource information with the community (Father Jon Seda and Abbe Health Services director Jackie Smith Duggan explained the event's open purpose).
