  • Local pilot Peter Teahen and co-pilot Ed Galkin returned home after a record-setting Atlantic flight in a 1976 Cessna that flew over 8,000 miles to raise awareness for polio eradication—after a fuel pump malfunction near Greenland forced a detour to Goose Bay. Galkin, the oldest pilot to cross the Atlantic in a single-engine plane, said they plan to fly again soon.  KWWL
