- ➤ Cedar Rapids was named Iowa’s best-tasting tap water for the fifth time by the Iowa Section of the American Water Works Association. Local judges rated its taste—appearance, odor, aftertaste, and mouthfeel—and the win qualifies the city for the national contest. KDAT
- ➤ Linn County Conservation announced that its modern campgrounds—including Buffalo Creek Park, Morgan Creek Park, Pinicon Ridge Park, and Wanatee Park—will close on October 26 at 1 p.m., with the final night for camping on October 25. Officials warned that if temperatures drop below freezing before then, water service may be shut off early and Morgan Creek Park will allow only self-contained campers because of renovations.
