- ➤ The City of Cedar Rapids will run its annual leaf vacuum program starting Monday, Oct. 27 through Dec. 5 with trucks collecting leaves by quadrant every other week. Residents must rake leaves to the grassy area next to the street by 7 a.m. on their scheduled day to ensure collection. CBS 2 Iowa
- ➤ Iowa lawmakers defended changes to Medicaid under the One Big, Beautiful Bill Act—Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks said the new rules fight waste and save money so that care reaches those who need it most. - ➤ About 200 JV cross country runners raced at Seminole Park on Saturday in Cedar Rapids, roughly quadrupling last year's sign-ups from 51 to 186. Easton Mai (a Prairie High School grad and Cornell College runner) started the unofficial meet to give JV athletes exposure and plans to have it become state-sanctioned (aiming to boost their recognition further).
