- ➤ Today, Cedar Rapids begins its fall loose leaf vacuum collection, which will run through Dec. 5; residents must place leaves at the curb by 7 a.m. on their scheduled day (SE pickups are on Oct. 27, Nov. 10, and Nov. 24 while NE/NW pickups are on Nov. 3, Nov. 17, and Dec. 1) and note that no collection occurs on Thanksgiving (Nov. 27) as crews may work weekends if weather delays service.
