  • A popular Prosecco sold at Costco in Iowa and across the Midwest is being recalled because the bottles may shatter and cause cuts—F&F Fine Wines International received reports including one injury.   • Coyle's Hibachi Chef, which began as a food truck in 2021 and later opened a spot on 1st Ave SE, opened a second location on November 5th at 555 Gateway Pl SW—formerly home to El Bajio—and now serves hibachi dishes for dine-in and carry-out.  KDAT

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Cedar Rapids Community School Board President Cindy Garlock said she welcomes a meeting with State Senator Molly Donahue—who had called for her resignation and that of two board members—after a narrow school bond vote for improvements failed. She said she will work with legislators to change the 60% rule and review why voters opposed the bond as she focuses on the district’s progress.  KCRG

  • On Thursday, Iowans marked Winter Weather Awareness Day to get ready for the coming snow, ice, and cold. National Weather Service meteorologist Timothy Gunkel advised residents to winterize their homes and slow down on slick roads—light precipitation can lead to more crashes.  CBS 2 Iowa
