- ➤ The outdoor rink at Hughes Park will open this Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (weather permitting) as the city will provide updates on closures if conditions change. KCRG

- ➤ LOCO CR launched a fully local food delivery service early November to support restaurants in Cedar Rapids (with The Blind Pig as its first partner) and will expand when Bops Pizza starts delivery on Tuesday, Dec. 16. KDAT

- ➤ Cedar Rapids restaurants are hosting festive holiday pop-ups featuring local spots like Goldfinch Tap + Eatery and Czech Town Station and will run through December — giving residents fresh dining events. Cedar Rapids Tourism shared details on Facebook to spark local cheer. CBS 2 Iowa
- ➤ Orchestra Iowa will launch three new candlelit concerts this winter with Tango of a Showgirl on Jan. 7-8, I Heart the 80s on Feb. 11-12 and The Four Seasons and The Four Seasons on Mar. 12-13. - ➤ Robert Thomas has been named executive director for VenuWorks, overseeing city-owned venues (Paramount Theatre, ImOn Ice Arena, Alliant Energy PowerHouse, and McGrath Amphitheatre). He brings nearly 18 years of live entertainment experience and replaces Darren Stearns. The Gazette

- ➤ The Iowa Healthiest State Initiative restored nearly $100,000 in benefits to Double Up Food Bucks users, adding $75,000 in expired funds and a $9 emergency deposit for more than 2,600 families. Recipients can use the funds until March 31 to buy fresh fruits and vegetables. KCRG
