- ➤ The New Bohemian Innovation Collaborative received a $200,000 state grant to plan an Aviation Technology Center that will support early-stage businesses and established aviation companies in Cedar Rapids (planning includes reviewing similar cities’ best practices). HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Iowans are enjoying family feasts today, but nurse Jade Williams from Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City warns that sharing meals can lead to overeating and stomach discomfort (bloating or GI distress). She advises drinking water and adding fruits and vegetables to keep meals light. Radio Iowa
- ➤ Iowa Poison Control Center warns that if a child swallows button batteries from Christmas toys—like those in video games and watches—the chemicals can quickly burn the esophagus, so parents should store batteries and ice melt safely and keep original packaging for emergency use. Radio Iowa
