- ➤ A Missouri family in Cedar Rapids had their cat Tinkerbell rescued after she jumped from a moving car on Highway 13 early Sunday, with owner Lisa and rescue groups searching roads and cornfields until Tuesday when she was found safe—now Tinkerbell is secured in her carrier for her return home. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Multiple fire departments worked together to control a large brush and tree debris fire in Beverly Park after Cedar Rapids firefighters were called at 11:22 a.m. Tuesday morning — the fire was under control by 12:40 p.m. but is not fully out as the cause is under investigation. CBS 2 Iowa

- ➤ Voters in the Cedar Rapids Community School District will decide on a $117 million bond proposal on November 4—if passed, it will fund renovations at schools including McKinley, Roosevelt, Wilson, and Kennedy High School following strong community petition support; the average homeowner is expected to pay about $7.50 per month. - ➤ Fairfax city council met Tuesday to review Alliant Energy’s plan for a utility plant near 76th Avenue southwest—three miles from a planned airport runway—as Eastern Iowa Airport officials and local residents raised safety, noise, and pollution concerns.
